COLLEGE UNION & ASSOCIATIONS
1. The objectives of College Union are (i) to train students of the college in the duties and rights of citizenship. (ii) to promote opportunities for the development of character, leadership and spirit of service among students. (iii) to organise debates, seminars, work squads etc. (iv) and to promote opportunities for students to organise sports, arts and other cultural and recreational activities.
2. All students of the College shall ipso facto be ordinary members of the Union and shall have the right to vote and contest in the election to the Union.
3. The tenure of office of the College Union shall be one academic year.
4. The Principal shall be ex-officio patron and honorary treasurer of the College Union. The executive of the College Union, shall normally formulate the general policy of the Union, but the patron shall be the ultimate authority in all matters connected with the college Union. He can depute a staff member to act for him if he so desires.
5. The funds of the college Union shall be held by the honorary treasurer.
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)
The Parent Teacher Association shall function at two levels:
- Department Level PTA
The Departmental PTA consists of the Principal, teachers of the Department, and all parents of the students in the Department concerned. The Executive Committee shall consist of the Principal, Head of the Department, and one parent each from each batch of the course.
The Principal shall be the Chairman, one parent representative of the executive committee shall be the Vice Chairman, the Head of the Department shall be the convenor and a faculty member nominated by the Head of the Department shall be the Secretary cum Treasurer.
- College Level PTA
The college level PTA shall consist of the Principal, Representative of the Manager, the members of the teaching staff, Office Superintendent and parents of all students on the rolls in the college register. The executive committee shall be constituted with the Principal, representative of Manager, Vice Chairman of DPTAs, the conveners and secretaries of DPTAs and Office Superintendent as members.
The office bearers shall be as follows:
- The President : A parent representative elected by and from among the members of the executive committee.
2.The Secretary : A faculty member nominated by the Principal from among the members in the executive committee.
3. The Treasurer : The Principal (Ex- officio)
