With a view to promote the literary talents of our students, an inter-departmental magazine competition was held. Each department was allowed to have a magazine of its own with a focus on its activities, achievements and creative writings. The teachers and students took up this initiative very seriously and nine magazines came out. The department of English won I Prize while Physics and Mathematics magazines have bagged II and III prizes respectively.



'Thiru Onam' the national festival of Kerala, was celebrated on 2 September, 2011, with traditional ferver. "Pookalam" competition was held batch wise while variety entertainments were held in a common pool.



The Christmas celebrations were also held department wise. There were competitions on 23 December, 2011 for Carol, Christmas message and Christmas 'Pappa'. In the Carol competition, Department of English took I prize while Commerce and Mathematics departments bagged II & III prizes respectively. 1st Prize for the best message was shared by Kum. Reshma Roy (PS4) and Sri. Bany Joy (ZS4) The Christmas celebrations were co-ordinated by Prof. Nancy Joseph, Department of Commerce and Dr. Bijimol Thomas, Department of English.



The 'Food Fest' was yet another important student activity which was enjoyed by the entire college community. It was held on 2 February 2012. Teachers and students prepared their favourite food items and sold it at market prices. The programme was intended to promote the art of cooking and entrepreneurship among the students. Theresa George, III B.Sc (Maths) won the first prize for the best stall and Arun K. Prabhakar, IInd M.Com and Abijith Mohan, I B.A. (English) won II and III prizes respectively. The Centre for Women Empowerment, functioning in the college, took the initiative in this regard.



Various artistic and literary competitions were held on 9-13 January, 2012 on an interdepartmental basis. The Department of English received the ever rolling trophy while Department of Commerce was the runners up. Rev. Dr. Raju Jacob and Sri. Prageesh C. Mathew and Ms. Liji George were the coordinators of the Arts Festival.

The College Day was celebrated on 9 March, 2012 with all the fanfare. On that day the college community gave a formal send off to the retiring teachers, Prof. Vincent John K. and Prof. Baby George, Department of English.


talent show

The programme " three minutes to fame" was conducted on 21 July, 2011. In this programme the students were asked to put their best in any form of cultural event on the stage within three minutes. Cultural items performed were in the category of mono act, Mimicry, folk song, light music, elocution, skit etc. The programme was extempore in nature and all participants were given three minutes time for performance. We could identify the best talents from among our students. Winners were given attractive prizes.
